Together with colleagues from various specialties, we continue to help wounded soldiers.
This time, representatives of the Department – Professor Yuriy Chepurny and postgraduate student Rostyslav Terletsky – as part of a multidisciplinary team, together with the hospital’s neurosurgeons, performed an extremely complex reconstruction of the brain and facial skull in a patient with severe craniofacial trauma after a mine-explosive injury.
✅ During the operation, defects in the temporal, frontal and parietal bones, the zygomatic complex and the orbit were eliminated.
✅ Conditions were also created for further eye prosthetics, which will be the next stage in treatment.
The patient is now recovering and is optimistic about continuing rehabilitation. His courage and strength of spirit inspire us to work even harder.
